Expertise: Viral vector development/modifications and its applications; improved production of therapeutically important recombinant reagents (mammalian system); bioassay development, VLP technology, start-up biotech program audit.

Major achievements: i] First commercially successful DBT sponsored biotech project: HIV-1 & 2 Sero-diagnostic Western Blot (licensee-J Mitra & Co, New Delhi); ii] First complete sequence of HIV-2 from India/Asia; iii] Development of only indigenous lentivirus vector system for gene transfer derived from the Indian HIV-2 isolate.
